Victor Turcanu
Dual Licensed (Canada [ON] & United States [NY]) – practice restricted to US law
Experience:
Victor Turcanu is no stranger to the franchising world. He has worked closely with franchisors across a variety of industries, from emerging tech start-ups, to home services concepts, to food and beverage companies. Victor is well-versed in all aspects of franchising, and specializes in providing strategic advice to emerging and established franchise systems. He was also a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Franchise Law Section Executive and remains an active member of the franchise community in both Canada and the United States. Victor is also a former business owner himself so he understands the exhilarating ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
Focus:
Victor has made the exciting leap from Canada to New York, and he’s ready to help clients make big moves too! Victor is licensed to practice in Canada and the United States, so he understands the diverse and confusing array of franchise regulations in the world’s two largest franchising markets. As the head of Spadea Lignana’s international franchise team, Victor assists foreign and domestic franchisors with their growth throughout the United States and beyond.
Approach:
Victor takes a pragmatic and business-minded approach to his practice, drawing on his experience as a former franchisee and his connections in the global franchise industry. He wants the franchisors he works with to grow while also having an exit plan. To Victor, it’s all about making deals happen while mitigating and identifying any potential risks.
When he’s not visiting the office in Philadelphia, you’ll most likely find Victor running, swimming or biking while training for his next Ironman. And when it’s time to unwind he enjoys learning more about wines and crafting cocktail and food pairings. Oh, and don’t even think about racing him down the Schuylkill! This guy is a former member of Canada’s national kayaking team. Challenge accepted?
