James McCauley
Experience:
James McCauley previously worked in corporate litigation and honed his transactional skills when working for several large sports agencies, including Wasserman and Priority Sports. He drafted transactional documents for a diverse clientele, including professional athletes, musicians, and influencers. Prior to embarking on his legal career, he also worked as a personal trainer for professional baseball players (no current Phillies, sadly).
Approach:
James reinvented himself after an abrupt end to his baseball career, so he’s no stranger to overcoming challenges. He knows that progress is not always linear and he is prepared to help business owners respond to bumps in the road that may arise. James firmly believes responses to adversity can define a person’s (or business’s) trajectory, so he takes proactive measures to ensure that entrepreneurs are prepared and empowered to tackle any issues that may arise head-on.
Passion:
Because of his athletic background, James enjoys helping business owners develop and build themselves up into household names. For him, the journey of growing a business is akin to a dynamic team-building exercise, where each challenge faced and obstacle overcome strengthens the entire organization. James knows collaboration and strategy are key to achieving greatness, just like with team sports. Through his guidance, he empowers others to realize their potential.
When James isn’t at the office, you may see him at the gym or befriending dogs around the city. While he doesn’t have a fur baby of his own (yet), he has grown up with boxers and enjoys visiting Sacramento, CA, where his parents live and are active members of NorCal Boxer Rescue, a non-profit that fosters boxers.
James also gives back to UCLA by serving as a mentor and featured guest speaker for the Bruin Sports Business Association.
